The forest floor and the ocean roar

Somewhere in Roseisle, Moray Coast.

Has there ever been a moment when I forgot to tell myself how much I love that fine line where the sea meets the forest? Meditating on the edge of the washed dune with legs catching tangling roots of trees? The salty breeze just before the tide comes in with the loud crackling of trees, cones dropping on your body. Nothing gives more euphoric feeling of waking up with sand gently landing on my face…

She woke up with the pieces following her
Here comes the winter, fires to burn
Everyone's got places to go
They running from what they already know.

Graduation, life has begun
That door is closing, they've left you to run
Time has meaning if you want it to
It carries a question: what will you do?

You got your one way street
You kept your first heart beat
You watched the sun go down
You felt the earth spin round
You got your reasons hid
You got your unborn kid
You've got the forest floor
You got the ocean roar.

Frosty sunshine mornings first blink
Wake me fast so I don't think
The town just woke up and we're on the brink
If we're all dying what makes us distinct?

She's got a pick up truck
Sleeps in the back when she gets stuck
She's looking for a home
A place in her heart where she can go.
